Princess Tiana

Today I met the new Disney princess, Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog! She is so beautiful and lovely. She has a new Jubilee every day in Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square on the riverboat and today we decided to go see it! And now I want to go see it every day. Maybe I will! Because in theory I could go to Magic Kingdom every single day if I wanted to. For free!
After her mini-parade/show we met her and took some pictures, not in front of the castle, Kirsten! Just in a quite lovely and practically perfect gazebo. And her prince is soo cute. I might've stared. But just a little.

Yes we're wearing Christmas hats that we purchased that day. It's already Christmas here. We're embracing it.

I'm so excited for this new movie for so many reasons. First of all, I just love Disney movies so much and I'm glad that they've returned to the old Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast format and characters. During the Jubilee they sing a bunch of the songs from the movie and they were fantastic! We were dancing in the street to those beats! Second, I love that I'm here at Disney World for her debut. Seriously, almost everyone here is as excited as I am about her and the movie! And lastly, I'm so happy that Tiana's African American. It puts the biggest smile on my face when I see a little girl wearing her princess dress. It's also by far the prettiest. I love that the company's becoming more diverse. It's so encouraging that all these barriers, even those as silly as a little Disney movie might be, are being broken down slowly across America. I love it. Love love LOVE it!

In case you haven't heard, the Yankees won the World Series on Wednesday night!!! I still am so excited about it. It doesn't even feel real yet. I wish that the Sooners had won the national championship earlier this year though too, that would've been the icing on the cake! I can't wait to get my 2009 Championship shirt! And hat. And hoodie...

I have been saving this quote for months to use at the end of the season and now it's finally here! But now I'm sad that I won't see them again till March. I know it's a long quote, but I think it's completely true!

“The relationship between a fan and his baseball team is unlike anything else. If you love a team -- if you truly love it -- then that team infiltrates your daily life for six straight months (seven if you're lucky). You wake up, you shower, you eat, you work, you eat, you watch your baseball team, you sleep. When the Mets collapsed for the third straight season last week, my devastated friends who follow them all said the same thing: it wasn't losing again as much as reflecting on those 162 games and the hundreds of hours wasted along the way. They felt betrayed. Only baseball does that to you. It's a game of routine, of watching one at-bat after another, hoping something different happens, of relishing the little things that happen along the way. You don't know your favorite players personally, but you feel like you do.” -
